Privacy policy for the Rezly extension

Last updated 2 August 2026. The web app has its own policy — this one covers only what the browser extension reads, sends and stores.

The short version

The extension reads the page you're looking at only on job sites you'd expect, or when you explicitly ask it to. It sends that text to Rezly only when you act. It has no analytics, no trackers, and no third-party scripts.

What it reads, and when

On the job sites listed in the store listing (LinkedIn Jobs, Indeed, Naukri, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, and the rest), the extension reads the page text to work out whether it's a job posting and, if so, to pull out the job description. This happens in your browser.

On every other site, it reads nothing until you click the Rezly icon in your toolbar. That click is what grants access, and only to that page, that once.

If you've chosen "Always show Rezly here" on a site, it reads that site the same way it reads the listed ones. You granted that per site, and you can take it back from the Sites list inside the panel, or from chrome://extensions.

If you have text selected on the page, we use exactly what you selected and ignore everything else.

What leaves your browser

Only when you act:

Nothing is sent when you're merely browsing. Closing the pill sends nothing. We do not send your browsing history, the pages you visit, or any page you haven't opened Rezly on.

What's stored, and where

In chrome.storage.local, on your machine:

Local storage, not synced storage — your session token has no business being copied to every browser you're signed into. Signing out of Rezly clears it.

What Rezly's servers keep

The job description you score is processed to produce your score and, if you save it, stored against your account so it appears in your dashboard. Your resume is already stored in your Rezly account; the extension doesn't upload a new one. See the Rezly privacy policy for how the account side works, including our deletion of uploaded files after parsing.

Chrome Web Store data disclosures

We declare, honestly:

We do not collect: personal communications, financial information, health information, location, browsing history, or user activity analytics. There is no analytics SDK in this extension. Traffic from the extension to the website is attributed with a ?src=ext parameter on links, and nothing more.
